  I’ve had this junk for about six months now. I keep my reviews brief and to the point.
  Pros: small, well built.
  Cons: almost unusable. It took me about 3 times as long to type this as on my other computers because the cursor jumps about randomly all over the place. I’ve downloaded the “fix” from asus support, but it only helps a little. If you come near the world’s worst touchpad the cursor is somewhere else. This machine is for hunt and peck typists only and should never have been marketed as it is. This is an unforgivable move on asus part and I would never look at another of their products. I kept hoping a good fix would come out I give up. Buy asus at your own risk.

  I would give this a better review but it quit powering on after 6 months, I tried a new ac adapter still no go, no charge no worky without battrery no worky with new adapter, spent seven hours on hold and I have to pay the shipping to send it in, if they fix it and send it back in less than 60 days I will add another star.

  exceeded our expectations. the single most amazing quality of this netbook is its battery life, which is just amazing. in real-world use, this netbook can literally be used all day without plugging it in. that is extremely convenient. we also love the quick startup time – it only takes ~30 seconds to completely boot up from a cold start. the keyboard is comfortable, the hard drive is bigger then we expected from a netbook, and we really don’t notice any performance issues. would be nice if it had an optical drive, but it’s easy enough to connect an external one when needed.

  I really love this little guy, and the keyboard is better than the other netbooks. The only down side I’ve had with the thing is the touch pad. It’s so sensitive, even after turning it down as much as possible, it still grabs and clicks on everything.

  Other than that, I’m really glad I took a chance on ASUS.

  I have had my ASUS EEE PC 1000he for some months now and I like it. The battery life is great, it lasts close to 10 hrs in power save mode. I dont use the blue tooth at all so I try and remember to keep it off.

  I had a good bit of trouble figuring out the Web Cam and Tech Support is as close to useless as you can get but gratefully, you don’t need them that much if you recieve a machine that works. I recommend you join the eee-user forum. (Just google it)

  When my PC crashed (thats Windows for ya!) and tech support couldn’t help me. I got help and support from the users on that message board and was able to reset my PC totally. I’m still looking for the perfect EXTERNAL CD/DVD reader/writer and external harddrive to back up my files too, but I definitely recommend this product, or atleast one from this line.

  Its ultra portable, I was a little nervous about being able to touch type but thats not a problem at all. Read and learn your keyboard well, I wasn’t used to the Laptop FNkey and once turned my mousepad off and couldnt figure out what happened– :p.

  I love the ultra portability. I really do. My friends think its TOO small, I think its perfect. You should go to your local dept. store or electronic store and see what these different sizes are like in real life. It can be tricky to picture them well.

  Oh, one con is the speakers–they’re not the GREATEST Quality but I found that by installing an opensource software called KMP player to run my MP3’s I get MUCH better sound, so its not the hardware but the Window Media Program…odd.
